New Challenges and Progress During the 12th CM

Important advances of the eTRANSAFE project were shared during the 12th Consortium Meeting held from June 17 to 18, 2021. Over 2 days, the members of the project spoke about the work carried out since the last meeting with encouraging results.

The system development team presented the latest advances of the eTRANSAFE system, with the delivery of the long-awaited minimum viable product. Data sharing activities have also taken a leap forward, although continuous efforts are required by the project EFPIA companies to reach the project goals, as pointed out by the project SAB and ExCom members.

The consortium was allowed to witness the results of the text-mining efforts with the annotation corpus now finished and searches ready to be processed through the also completed SR-Domain tool. Possible collaborations with other initiatives as well as aspects attaining sustainability of several project assets were also discussed.

Overall progress could be denoted during the meeting, which encourages the whole team to keep moving forward. Our next challenge will be to focus on data interpretation, mechanistic approaches and in silico models, all of which will be very important for the outcome of the project.
